Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01
    Kathmandu – Rasuwa Gadi – Kerung (2,790 m): (157 km / 8 – 9 Hrs)
    Early morning drive to Rasuwa gadi (approx. 6 to 7 hrs.) The drive offers views of terraced fields, river and rustic villages of Nepal along the way to Langtang National Park Area. Further drive to Rasuwagadi (approx. 01 hr.) through narrow and zig zag road. After completing immigration formalities at Nepal border, we take short drive and walk through the bridge. Then meet the local Tibetan guide and do entry formalities of Tibet. Finally, after completing entry formalities, drive to Kerung (24 km, approx. 01 hr.) Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 02
    At Kerung (Acclimatization Day) Visit Pakba Monastery or Short hike to nearby valley (2,790 m)
    After Breakfast visit Pakba Monastery. Then rest of the day is free in order to acclimatize. Or go for a small hike to nearby village and return back to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 03
    Drive from Kerung to Saga: (4,640 m): (169 km / 6 – 7 Hrs)
    Today we drive to Saga (169 km, 6-7 hrs. approx.). On the way we stop at the first high pass Ghungtang Lhamo pass (5236 m). While driving along the way, climate changes can be experienced. We can also enjoy the Tibetan scenery of magnificent valleys and several Tibetan villages en route. Similarly, witness enchanting views of the Mount Shishapangma and Pekutso Lake. Then continue drive to Saga crossing the YarlungTsangpo (Brahmaputra River). Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 04
    Drive from Saga to Manasarovar: (4,590 m): (480 km / 8 – 9 Hrs)
    Today we have the longest drive from Saga to Manasarovar (480 km approx. 8-9 hrs.) From Saga, we drive across the plains to Manasarovar located just 30 km south of Mt Kailash. The lake is separated from another lake named Rakshas Tal. Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
  • Day 05
    Drive from Manasarovar to Darchen: (4,575 m): (115 km / 2 Hrs)
    After Breakfast walk around Lake Manasarovar. Then drive towards Darchen (115 km approx.), the Base Camp of Kailash. Overnight at Guesthouse.
  • Day 06
    Trek from Darchen to Dira – Puk: (4,860 m): (13 km drive – 20 min & 7 km Trek 5 – 6 Hrs)
    Drive to Tarboche (13 km approx..), the starting point for Kora. We walk up the Lha Chu Valley through beautiful green meadows and streams with Mt Kailash towering above us (approx. 35 Km). Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
  • Day 07
    Trek from Dira – Puk to Zutul – Puk: (4,760 m): (18 km Trek / 9 – 10 Hrs)
    Today we leave the Lha Chu Valley and enter the Dolma Chu Valley, heading up towards a high pass, the Dolma La (5650m). It’s a tough climb to the summit which is festooned with prayer flags. However, from there it is all downhill or flat to Zutul-puk. Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
  • Day 08
    Trek from Zutul – Puk to Darchen and drive to Saga: (4,640 m): (10 km Trek 4 – 5 hrs & 495 km drive 7 Hrs)
    On the final day of the Kora we cross several streams. Then walk to the Bharka plain through desert-like landscape to Darchen. After reaching Darchen we drive to Saga via Manasarovar. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 09
    Drive to Kerung: (2,790 m): (169 km / 6 – 7 Hrs)
    Morning after breakfast drive to Kerung. On the way, catch the glimpses of Himalayan high pass over 5000 m and Piku Tso Lake. Today, the difference in landscape is quite special-the barren rugged landscape of Tibet to the mighty Himalayas, where the scenery changes to rich forests, typical of the Nepalese foothills. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 10
    Kerung – Kathmandu: (1,300 m): (157 km / 8 – 9 Hrs)
    After breakfast, drive downhill to reach Chinese immigration (Rasuwa Gadi bridge, 24 Km approx. 01 hr.) After completing immigration process, we walk through the Bridge where our vehicle from Nepal side would be waiting. Then drive to Immigration office for necessary formalities in Nepal side. Later continue drive to Kathmandu.
