Shivapuri is the second highest hill top around Kathmandu valley. It is located north of Kathmandu. Drive to Budhanilkantha; it is about 30 minutes from Kathmandu. Visit temple of sleeping Vishnu- Budhanilkantha. Start to ascend from the road towards the hill. The trail gradually climbs up to the fence boarder of Shivapuri forest and then it becomes moderately steep. You will take about an hour walk up to the hill to cover the steep portion of the trek; then the trail becomes little easier. The view from the open grassy field at Shivapuri is impressive.
